What we do.

Power View is a principal owner in the secondary market for power generation equipment.

What we are not

What we do not do.

We are not a broker, an agent, or a listing service. We do not market equipment we have not contracted to buy, and we do not put a seller into a chain of intermediaries. We close as principal, take title, and carry the equipment through redeployment.

Acquisition

We buy for our own account and take title. Sellers negotiate with the party that will own the equipment, not an intermediary. We are comfortable with receivership, canceled developments, partial packages, and equipment still installed and requiring removal.

Technical diligence

We underwrite the equipment, not the seller’s description of it. Diligence runs in a fixed order, and nothing advances to the next stage on assurance alone.

  1. Records

Frame machines: fired and factored hours and starts, total and since the last CI, HGPI, and MI — or EOH where the OEM counts that way; rotor life against the limit; TIL and service bulletin status; findings and parts disposition from the last major. Aeroderivatives: cycles and hours since the last shop visit, life-limited parts with back-to-birth traceability, and module and serial history. Both: lay-up history since shutdown.

  2. The machine

A physical walkdown, a borescope, and a run-and-witness where the unit is still operable — performed by gas turbine engineers we retain per package, independent of the seller and of the shop that will do the work.

  3. Our position

What the records and the inspection support is what we underwrite. Where records are thin or access is limited, we price it as a gap rather than assume the best case and reprice later.

Refurbishment and validation

Restoration through qualified shops — including OEM-authorized shops where the scope calls for it — against a written scope of work, with the acceptance standard fixed before work starts. Inspection findings and completed work are documented, and that record travels with the machine. Aeroderivative gas generators and power turbines are test-cell run before shipment where the scope calls for it. Frame machines are validated on component inspection and assembly records, with first fire and performance test at the receiving site.

Removal, logistics, and redeployment

Disassembly and rigging under our contract, preservation for transit, crating, heavy haul and ocean freight, customs, and delivery to site. We supply equipment and technical field support through first fire; installation and commissioning remain within the EPC scope. We underwrite removal, transport, and refurbishment before acquisition so the true delivered cost is understood from the outset.

Who actually holds the borescope.

Independent engineers inspect. Qualified shops refurbish. Specialist logistics firms move the machine. Power View owns the equipment and manages the process from acquisition through delivery — one counterparty, accountable for the equipment and the work in it.

Our contracts require every party in that chain to work to a standard set before work starts. On a seller’s site we work under the site’s safety program, and we require cargo and riggers’ liability coverage, certificates of insurance naming the owner as additional insured, and a named site supervisor. We maintain sanctions and export-control screening on counterparties and destinations ahead of commitment.
